A few kilometres to the north, next to Bolonia are located some of the most important Roman ruins in Spain: the Conjunto Arqueológico Baelo Claudia, an impressively preserved temple with baths and salt pans dating back to the 2nd century BC.

The old town is full of surprises, a veritable Ali Baba's cave with many traditional and handicraft products, shops, bars and restaurants. In addition, you can also enjoy visiting historical monuments such as the Jerez Gate the only medieval gate of the 4 remaining medieval gates. The narrow streets lead you to magical alleyways where jewellery, ethnic shops and moroccan handicrafts will enchant you.
