Description

In one of the small squares near the magnificent Piazza Salandra, among the narrow, harmonious streets of Nardò's historic centre, lies this residence with terraces and open spaces, completely to be restored. The large dark green doorway with a portal in Lecce stone and frieze is just one of three different entrances to the property, the most solemn. Large rooms with star vaults and floors authentic are immediately full of potential in the eyes of an expert. One falls in love with the spaciousness, the volumes, the brightness of the rooms even though the property is located on the ground floor. Then the ever-present terraces, moved, at two different heights, make it a real jewel. A large fireplace now removed, intersections of arches, antique frames, floral designs in the floors, make this property very interesting. Nardò is one of the places where you can breathe the ferment in Salento. Investors from every country here have bought and are buying private residences or to be used for receptive activities. The proximity to the marinas of Santa Caterina and of Santa Maria al Bagno is a plus.

Location: Centro Storico, Nardò

Nardò is a pretty town in the province of Lecce that lies in a flat position southwest of the provincial capital and includes a stretch of the Ionian coast of Salento. It has been an important Byzantine center for centuries, which increased the presence of Basilian monks and spread the Eastern rite and worship and to which we owe the spread of caves and crypts. The town presents itself as a place rich in churches and historical monuments, dating from the period between 1400 and 1800. Among these we cannot fail to mention the famous Cathedral Maria SS.ma Assunta, the church of San Domenico and the Sedile, of Renaissance layout and connected to the foundation of the University of Neretina. Its historic center, one of the most beautiful in Apulia, allows a privileged and special reading of the historical events of the city and its community. Thanks to its proximity to some of the most beautiful locations on the Ionian coast, it is the ideal destination in which to stay during vacations in Salento. The 22-kilometer coastal strip includes the seaside resorts of Santa Maria al Bagno, Santa Caterina and Sant'Isidoro and is home to the Porto Selvaggio and Palude del Capitano Regional Natural Park, an area of great historical-naturalistic interest whose rocky, jagged coastline is characterized by pine forests, Mediterranean scrub and wetlands. A perfect compromise to be able to enjoy the tranquility while still enjoying the liveliness of the coast.
