Elegant apartment with canal view

Arriving on the Island of Giudecca and, with no bridge along the way, we open the main door and find ourselves in the well-kept inner courtyard with garden and an automated mosquito-control system. In the shared courtyard we find the laundry room, shared with the neighbors on the floor above, with washer-dryer. We go around the garden and climb the stairs to the first and top floor. The entrance is spacious and very bright, with large windows on both sides. The kitchen is custom-made, functional and fully equipped with appliances. In the living room there are already comfortable sofas and a desk. There is also a staircase leading to the attic, renovated and walkable, useful for unexpected guests or, why not, as a storage room. Exposed beams run throughout the apartment. The sleeping area has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en suite in the master bedroom, which, beyond the joy of the view over the square, also offers a glimpse of the canal. Here time seems to have stood still: the outlooks and views have been telling the same wonderful story for centuries. These glimpses help us understand why we are still here listening to it.
