João Coelho

João Pinto Coelho, born in 1979, is one of six siblings (including his twin brother António).

He holds a degree in Business Management from Nova School of Business and Economics and has completed several executive programs at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, including an advanced certification in Revenue Management.

João began his career in investment banking at Banco Itaú Europa, and in 2004 he joined the Onyria Group — a family-owned company focused on hospitality and luxury real estate — where he started in the commercial department of the Hotel Quinta da Marinha.

In 2006, he took over the Group’s Sales and Marketing division and is currently the Chief Commercial Officer.

Throughout his career, he has been involved in the development and commercial success of several iconic projects, including the Onyria Marinha Boutique Hotel, Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort (Lagos), and the Group’s international expansion into Turkey and France.

Passionate about sports and physical challenges, João has completed several marathons and the legendary Ironman race.

Beyond sports, he is an avid reader and author of the book 37 Hacks for Personal Growth (published in 2021), and he also writes a blog about Cascais: www.localCascais.com .
