Minusio is a neighboring town of Locarno, located between Lake Maggiore and Monte Cardada, and borders Muralto, Orselina, Brione, Contra, and Tenero. The train stations in Minusio and Muralto provide excellent connections to Bellinzona and Lugano.
On the lakeside in Rivapiana stands the Catholic church San Quirico, first mentioned in 1313 and rebuilt in the 18th century in Baroque style, featuring remnants of Romanesque frescoes and a former watchtower bell tower. The church is surrounded by a public park with lake views. Nearby is the historic Cà di Ferro, built in the 16th century as a
recruitment barracks for Swiss mercenaries.
