The municipality of Obsteig, situated at about 1,000 meters above sea level, is popular in summer with hikers, mountain bikers, and golfers, and in winter with cross-country skiers. This is because, in addition to many hiking trails and paths, there is also a decent network of well-groomed cross-country trails. On the road to the neighboring Mieming, the 13th-century Klamm Castle, with its distinctive castle tower, watches over the area, known from the ZDF series "Der Bergdoktor." Just below, the Klammbach plunges into the depths over a 25-meter-high waterfall. Excursions to the Gurgltal, just a few kilometers away, and to the Fernpass, which is surrounded by several lakes, are also worthwhile. Golf enthusiasts will find a spacious 27-hole course right next door in Mieming. In winter, sports enthusiasts can enjoy several cross-country trails, and young ski enthusiasts can spend varied hours in the Kinderland ski area Obsteig/Grünberg. The city of Innsbruck, with its cultural and shopping offerings, is only about a 40-minute drive away, the market town of Telfs can be reached in just under 15 minutes, and in the Olympic region of Seefeld, 30 km away, in addition to the summer sports offerings with 2 more golf courses, about 30 lifts and cable cars for skiing pleasure as well as perfect cross-country and biathlon trails are available in winter.
