Professor Dr. Marco Schwenke supports the Engel & Völkers Bochum team as a scientific advisor – aiming to closely integrate expertise from research and academia with practical application, setting new impulses to actively promote the development of the team and client relationships.

The PhD economist is a Professor of Marketing, Sales, and Quantitative Methods at EBZ Business School – the leading real estate university in the German-speaking region. He has over 15 years of professional experience in finance and management consulting, with a special focus on real estate financing, and is an industry-connected sales trainer and President of the Marketing Club Bochum.

The connection with Engel & Völkers began about two years ago through Dr. Christian Kretzmann – from an inspiring exchange on real estate marketing, a close relationship developed. By the end of 2024, the idea matured to permanently integrate Professor Dr. Marco Schwenke as a scientific advisor into the team. “He is an expert in many areas that provide the theoretical background for our professional everyday life,” says Dr. Kretzmann. His ability to think outside the box is particularly valued.

The collaboration aims to benefit not only internally: Starting this summer, a quarterly market report will be published in cooperation, which will present market analyses and relevant developments in an accessible way for clients.

Privately, Professor Dr. Marco Schwenke enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in sports, and is a passionate moviegoer. With groundedness, strong communication skills, and a deep connection to the Ruhr area, he harmonizes scientific depth with regional perspective.
