The Agnesviertel in Cologne is the northernmost part of the Neustadt-Nord district and belongs to the Innenstadt district. It is named after the parish church of St. Agnes, which was built in the neo-Gothic style at the turn of the 20th century in the previously developed suburban area on Neusser Platz by the city architect Stübben. The building is the second largest church in Cologne and was dedicated to Saint Agnes in memory of his deceased wife Agnes at the request of its founder Peter Joseph Roeckerath.
