Less than 20 km east of the provincial capital Innsbruck you will find the Wattenberg, located above Wattens.
The Wattenberg is a distinctive scattered settlement, the settlement area is mainly located at the mostly unforested valley entrance, the municipality has 778 inhabitants and covers an area of 68 square kilometers.
Here you will find the most extensive pine forests in Tyrol. For a long time, the area was used purely agriculturally, especially as an alpine pasture area.In the 15th century, iron and copper were mined in the Mölstal and in the "Knappenkuchl", which caused the area to experience an economic boom. Thus, as early as 1524, a school was founded.
Today, the Wattenberg is a popular, purely residential area and you will find peace and quiet and lots of nature here. Sports enthusiasts get their money's worth in summer and winter and can explore the landscape on foot or by bike from the Villa.The view of the entire Tyrolean Inn Valley is phenomenal and you can reach the municipality of Wattens, with perfect infrastructure, in less than 5 minutes by car. 6. Es gilt österreichisches Recht, Gerichtsstand ist Innsbruck.
