10 ideas to make your living room more comfortable

The living room is a place where the family members are most likely to spend their time resting or relaxing at the end of the day.

There are many ideas to make this room more cosy and comfortable:

Brightness
Natural light always has more appeal. A well selected lighting theme for the interior of your home as well as plenty of natural light will add to the charm of the property.

How can you get the most out of natural light coming in from the outside? There are many tricks: painting the walls white, choosing light colours for the furnishings, hanging transparent fabric curtains for light to easily enter, and installing mirrors for light reflection, etc will all work perfectly.

Neutral tones
The walls' colours will greatly influence the serenity of the surroundings. Reddish tones are not recommended as they create a feeling of bewilderment. The most recommended colours for a living room are neutral tones.

Curtains
Curtains are a very important feature in today's interior designs. In addition to letting in natural light, they can offer a sense of comfort and serenity. For this we can choose soft fabrics, which are translucent and transparent.

Artificial lighting
We have seen the importance of utilising natural light. However, artificial light is also very important. There must be several lights in the living room in order to create a warmer feeling. Even a large lamp in the centre of the room will suffice.

A good couch
The sofa is one of the most important pieces of furniture in our home. After all, it is the sofa that we spend a lot of our time on. The most serene colour is the one formed by natural tones. To complement the couch, we can add other tones for cushions or blankets.

Personalised design
There are many personal touches that can be added to the room in order to make it more welcoming and personalised. Displaying your holiday or special occasion photos in the living room will create that personal touch.

Wallpaper
Wallpaper is still fashionable. It's no longer about those boring, flat tones as today, there are many wallpaper colours that can be found on the market.

Ideal layout
To make the most of the room, a good layout is necessary. You can start by assessing which part of the room is best to place all the different fixtures and fittings in. Take into account the fixed elements such as doors and windows as well as the portable elements such as the furniture.

Open spaces
It is best to avoid clutter by not placing all the furniture in one room. By spacing out each furniture item, you will open up the space in the living room.

Features that emit more space
There are many tricks for the living room to look bigger than it is. Glass tables will not be the focal point of the room and won't create visual space so use mirrors instead.
