How to prepare your house for summer

Summer is coming and, with it, the perfect opportunity to 'refresh' your home's decor. Just as your wardrobe changes when there is a change from winter to summer, it is also important to make yourself feel at ease in the place where you reside. Receive warmth with joy and originality!

1. Do not forget the flowers

Flowers should play a key role in the decoration of your home. In fact, it is best to use them to give some colour, energy and freshness both inside and outside the home. You can opt to place some dahlias, clavelinas and petunias inside the house but near the windows so that they receive the sunlight that they need and, likewise, opt for geraniums, white daisies and violets for the balcony or terrace. You can be sure that you will notice the vitality they transmit from the first moment.

2. Take care of outdoor spaces

Obviously, with the arrival of heatwave, you will increasingly feel like spending more time on your terrace or balcony. Therefore, it is important that you take care of both elements with all the care and pampering in the world. Firstly, if you have enough space, do not hesitate to place a table and wooden chairs in the balcony. And it is difficult to imagine a better day than the one that begins with an outdoor breakfast. You can also take advantage of sunbeds for sunbathing and decorative plants.

3. Use seasonal fabrics

You may already know that winter textiles are not suitable for summer. Can you imagine leaning on a wool or flannel cushion in 40 degrees Celsius? Surely that would not be an enjoyable experience. This is why it is important that for this time of the year, we choose those textiles that have been made from fabric as fresh and soft as cotton. There is no doubt that you will notice the difference.

4. Get the ideal temperature with blinds and curtains

In many cases, it is not necessary to use air conditioning to make the apartment enjoy a pleasant temperature. When there is direct sunshine in your rooms, lower the blinds and use light-colour curtains that reflect the light. In this way, you will ensure that the rooms do not get hot and you will feel much more comfortable. In addition, you will save energy, which will result in lower electricity bills.
