Torrevieja is a coastal city and municipality in the south of the province of Alicante, within the region of Vega Baja. Notable beaches include La Mata, Los Locos, El Cura, El Acequión, and Los Náufragos. The city offers a wide range of shopping opportunities with 2,500 shops of all kinds. It has numerous sports associations, sports facilities, many educational centers, a private hospital, a public hospital, hotel facilities, and shopping centers like "Las Habaneras". At the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, members can take lessons in sailing, rowing, etc. It is well connected by air: 40km from El Altet Airport (Alicante) and 25km south of San Javier Airport (Murcia). By car: national road 332, Levante highway, Mediterranean highway, and A-37 highway. By train: various RENFE stations in Alicante, Elche, and Murcia. By public transport such as bus and boat. Torrevieja has a large harbor for private yachts and tourist boats offering cruises along the coast and to Tabarca Island.
