This fishing village, surrounded by mountains and known for its turquoise waters, has attracted tourists and artists alike since the beginning of the last century. The painter Joaquín Sorolla, known as the "Spanish Master of Light", spent some time here in August 1919, capturing the magnificent sunsets along the cliffs of the Serra del Cavall Bernat on canvas.
A place to relax
Today, Cala San Vicente features several hotels, apartments and villas, many of them painted white with charming blue shutters. Compared to other, larger resorts along the north coast, Cala San Vicente remains relatively secluded and has largely escaped overdevelopment. Still, it is not far from livelier places. For those who enjoy walking, there is even a footpath that leads to Puerto Pollensa in about an hour.

Cala Barques is the first beach in the village. Steps lead down to the pebble-sand beach, which is perfect for snorkelling. Here you will find some of the best fish restaurants with terraces and bars where you can take in the wonderful sea view. Higher up, there are homes offering spectacular panoramic views across the entire bay and the mountains beyond.
Cala Clara is a small sandy cove mainly frequented by guests of the Don Pedro hotel.
Cala Molins is the main beach in the area and therefore the most popular with bathers.
Cala Carbó, the last of the four coves, is rocky. Here, you can watch the fishing boats as they head out and return with their fresh catch.

Cala Figuera is a small, secluded cove on the Formentor peninsula, known for its turquoise, crystal-clear waters. Nestled between cliffs, it can be reached via a well-marked path. From the car park, it takes about 15 minutes to walk down (the ascent takes correspondingly longer).
Cala Formentor (Playa de Formentor) is a family-friendly beach with fine sand and clear water. Numerous pine trees offer shade when the midday sun becomes intense. From here, there are many trails for walks off the coastal path.
Cala Castell is a lesser-known cove located between the high cliffs of Punta Galera and the flatter Punta Topina. It is named after a small 13th-century castle once used to defend the coast.
Cala Murta is surrounded by pine trees and offers a peaceful, sheltered setting. The Oratorio Mare de Déu de Formentor is also located here. Thanks to its sheltered position, the cove is a popular anchorage for boats.
Cala Boquer can be reached from Puerto Pollensa via a beautiful 2.7 km hiking trail. Flanked by mountains, the path offers sightings of goats, sheep, and many native bird species. The pebble beach has no natural shade, but even during peak season, this cove is rarely crowded.
