Located in the southern part of the Costa Blanca, Punta Prima lies just between two municipalities; it is the promontory that marks the border between the town of Torrevieja and the coastal towns of Orihuela Costa (Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig).

Due to its strategic location, Punta Prima is easily accessible from two international airports: the International Airport of the Region of Murcia and the Alicante-Elche Airport both of which are only a 30 minute drive away. In addition, Punta Prima is only a 2 to 3 minute drive away from Torrevieja which provides easy access to many local attractions such as water parks, discotheques, the large salt water lakes and numerous beaches.

Climate of Punta Prima

Like Torrevieja, Punta Prima enjoys a sunny and pleasantly cool Mediterranean climate, with around 320 days of sunshine a year. The warmest months are July, August and September, with average daily temperatures ranging between 26°C and 28°C. Thanks to its coastal location, summer nights are usually cooler due to the sea breeze. During the winter months (December to February), temperatures rarely drop below 12°C even on the coldest nights, and many sunny days are enjoyed with temperatures averaging between 18°C to 22°C. Punta Prima beach and promenade

The beach of Punta Prima is a narrow strip of white and golden sand, known for being a quiet and less crowded beach. Its crystal clear waters and varied facilities make it a popular place to visit all year round, even in the autumn and winter months. The beach is sheltered by a cliff on the northwest side, which helps to block the cool breeze. This cliff, once inaccessible, has been developed to become one of the attractions of the beach, and is now accessible even to people with limited mobility thanks to the installation of a lift on the south side of the beach. Near the lift, you will find parking spaces and adapted toilets.

Punta Prima Beach has been awarded the prestigious Ecobeach Flag in 2010 for its facilities and the conservation of its waters, and even today it has the Blue Flag, this guarantees high standards of water quality, cleanliness and beach maintenance. The beach is 230 metres long and 28 metres wide, with several accesses, including a lift, a staircase and a ramp that connects to the picturesque promenade.

The beach promenade stretches from end to end and provides wheelchair access, with benches where visitors can rest while enjoying the spectacular sea views. There are also electric bike rental points and beach bars, bars and restaurants with excellent food, drinks and panoramic views.

  The local Punta Prima bus, the F/D connects Torrevieja with Orihuela Costa, passing through Punta Prima. The bus leaves every 40 minutes from the terminal on Avenida de las Habaneras in Torrevieja, with a timetable from 7:30am to 10:00pm. This line is a convenient way to get around the area without a car.
