Elegant residence just a stone's throw from the sea

We venture into one of the most discreet streets of the Lido, one of those that seem suspended in a time where the elegance of the early 20th century is still palpable. The gentle rustle of the sea breeze can be heard, even though we cannot yet see the water. Our semi-detached house reveals itself, immersed in the most refined and historic setting on the island, a short distance from the ancient Ospedale al Mare hospital and with the salty scent reminding us how close we are to the beach. The first thing that strikes us is the architecture. Its lines are clean and decisive, a refined example of post-rational style that gives the building a strong, almost sculptural presence, yet incredibly harmonious with the surrounding greenery. We find ourselves enveloped by the private garden, which surrounds the house on three sides. As we walk across the lawn, we clearly perceive the importance of this outdoor space, a vital place where we imagine the warmth of spring and summer days, perhaps with the cheerful sound of conversations between friends. We begin our visit on the lower level, the basement. Here, two large rooms, both well lit by windows, offer a versatile space, whose natural coolness will prove invaluable in the hottest summers. Going up to the ground floor, we enter the living area, a large space that combines the living room and kitchen. It is a space designed for conviviality, but the light that filters in gently also promises the tranquillity necessary for moments of intimacy. On the first floor, we find the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rational and clean layout of the interior spaces reflects the philosophy of the exterior lines, ensuring practicality and a sense of order. At the end of our visit, as we exit the gate, we turn for one last look at this little gem of the Golden Island: the balance between the solidity of its modern architecture and the timeless charm of its location is remarkable. Despite its elegance and proximity to the sea, it seems to us that this property does not necessarily have to be limited to seasonal use.
