Location: Castiglione Falletto, Piedmont
Castiglione Falletto is one of the villages of the “Langa del Barolo,” one of the areas recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014. Entering Castiglione Falletto via Via Roma, you reach Piazza del Centro, formerly called “della Balada,” because dances were held there during village festivals. A short climb leads beneath the imposing fortress. Just a few meters from the square, in a strategic position, the property welcomes its guests. The Castle of Castiglione Falletto, now owned by the Bricco Boschis winery of the Cavallotto family, was built by Bertoldo Falletti from Alba, who had received the place as a fief from the Marquises of Saluzzo. The Falletti, who remained owners until the late 17th century, wanted to add their name to that of the village. Back on Piazza del Centro and along the old Via del Fossato, you complete the circuit around the historic center of Castiglione Falletto and look out over the slopes of the surrounding hills.
