We are in the municipality of Quargnento, but at the same time, not far from other characteristic villages such as Vignale Monferrato, Lu and Cuccaro Monferrato, and Altavilla. This area, in the heart of the 50th Italian UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Paesaggi Vitivinicoli Langhe Roero Monferrato’, is about 20 kilometres from Casale Monferrato and Asti, and 10 kilometres from Alessandria, and is about an hour's drive from the airports of the main northern Italian cities, such as Milan, Turin and Genoa. Also known as Basso Monferrato, this area is characterised by its rolling hills full of vineyards that, with the exception of the Sacro Monte di Crea (455 m), never reach heights above 400 metres. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of Italian and foreign visitors attracted by the beauty of the area, with its routes through the vineyards, and by the food and wine offer that, thanks to the presence of the many wineries, restaurants and agritourisms, guarantees the possibility of tasting the typical Monferrato delicacies all year round. Many festivals and markets take place in all the towns in this area; noteworthy is the White Truffle Fair in nearby Moncalvo. In addition, Quargnento is close to the area of the 14 villages of the Infernot Circuit, a hilly route suitable for everyone of about 47 kilometres, which can also be travelled by mountain bike, and which allows you to discover the beauty of all these underground places built by peasants by hand and usually used as cellars or pantries. Quargnento, like the neighbouring villages of Lu and Fubine, provides all the basic services such as food shops, post office and pharmacy. This area is also known for the presence of a Golf Club and a prestigious Riding School.
