The city district covers the eastern part of Munich. To the west it borders Berg am Laim and Bogenhausen, to the south Ramersdorf-Perlach, to the north Johanneskirchen, and to the east several independent municipalities in the Munich district. Numerous main roads provide access to the neighborhoods and lead to the adjacent Munich districts and municipalities in the surrounding county. Via the A94 you can reach the Munich ring road and also quickly get to the airport (47 km).
