It is a municipality in the Munich district, administrative region of Upper Bavaria, with the districts of Neubiberg and Unterbiberg. It borders directly on the Munich districts of Neuperlach and Waldperlach, the municipalities of Ottobrunn and Unterhaching, and the district of Waldkolonie in the municipality of Putzbrunn.
