According to another version, during the War of 1821, a group of fighters who had taken refuge in the church for the night were suddenly awakened by a voice shouting, "To arms!" They got up and managed to repel a Turkish attack. Later, when they asked each other, they found that everyone was asleep when the voice was heard.
