Saifores is a neighborhood belonging to the municipality of Banyeres del Penedès in the province of Tarragona, located at the southwestern end of the area, in the middle of the Baix Penedès region, with 68 inhabitants. Much of the economy in the area is based on agriculture, particularly vineyards, olive trees, and almond trees. The first written record of Saifores dates from the year 1152, and another document from the first half of the 12th century mentions a character named Saifores. Another document dated 1414 mentions the Chapel of Sant Pere de Saifores. The population has a typically Mediterranean climate; being on top of a hill, it has a slight temperature difference with the surrounding towns thanks to the sea and the mistral wind, which blows through the Santa Cristina pass, to the Montmell mountain range.
