Descrizione
Born in Blanes and returned from America, Agustí Vilaret, who had made fortunes in the Antillans, founded the Mont-Ferrant sparkling wine cellars in 1865, making it the oldest cava producer among the current companies in the sector.
During the Civil War, the cellars became a safe place of refuge for people thanks to the more than 4 000 m2 of underground galleries.
These galleries extend over four levels and are only 500 metres from the sea.
Today we find there the old country house with two floors of about 160 m2 each, a large open space of about 400 m2 and several storage and dressing rooms, making a total of 1,200 m2.

Blanes is a touristic city well known for the fireworks competition during the Santa Anna festival in summer. During the week there are more activities organized by the town hall, since it is a week of festivities in Blanes. Other places of interest are the beautiful Blanes and Costa Brava beaches and the botanical gardens, such as the "Mar i Murtra", which covers almost 15 hectares and includes more than 4000 different plant species. The city offers a host of activities and sports clubs, including the renowned Blanes Sailing Club, one of the most important sailing clubs on the Costa Brava. The seafront promenade is extensive and has several restaurants and bars. In the whole town, there are 150 specialized restaurants, where you will find all kinds of culinary offerings: Catalan, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Chinese, Japanese etc. Blanes is situated just 1 hour from Barcelona airport and 40 minutes from Girona airport.
