Stahnsdorf is one of the most sought-after residential areas in the Berlin region and offers the perfect balance between living close to nature and excellent connections to the state capitals of Potsdam and Berlin. In particular, as an alternative to Kleinmachnow, Stahnsdorf is becoming increasingly attractive. Surrounded by extensive forests, fields and the Nuthetal Nature Park, residents enjoy a peaceful, green environment that is ideal for families and nature lovers.
The forest- and lake-rich surroundings invite residents to take long walks and enjoy other leisure activities. Numerous supermarkets and many shops catering to everyday needs, as well as kindergartens, schools and medical facilities, can be found in the town centre. Secondary schools are also easily accessible in neighbouring Teltow and Kleinmachnow (BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School; Weinberg Gymnasium). Via the A 115 motorway junction, Berlin’s western city centre can be reached in approx. 20 minutes, while the Nuthestraße takes approx. 15 minutes to Potsdam city centre. Various bus routes run, among other destinations, to Berlin-Zehlendorf S-Bahn station, Wannsee long-distance railway station and Potsdam Central Station.
The district of Güterfelde lies south of the town centre. By far the most distinctive building in Güterfelde is the palace. Güterfelder Haussee, with its popular bathing area, can be reached on foot from here in 10 minutes.
