This wonderful piano nobile with canal views, located in a historic 14th-century Venetian palace, is situated in Cannaregio, in an area adjacent to Campo San Giovanni Grisostomo and the Malibran Theatre, more precisely in a charming, ancient, picturesque and secluded courtyard where tranquillity reigns, far from the busiest streets. The area is also famous thanks to the renowned Venetian writer, traveller and merchant Marco Polo, who is said to have resided in this part of Venice. According to legend, the writer also owned an apartment in the building where our property is located. The courtyard is accessed by climbing an ancient marble staircase and, once through the external door, you arrive at the house. From the entrance, you immediately perceive the Venetian charm and are pervaded by a unique beauty: the classic tripartite layout consisting of a beautiful and spacious hall with Venetian terrazzo flooring, a ceiling almost four metres high, 18th-century stuccoes and triple lancet windows through which warm light enters, illuminating the entire room in all its splendour. On one side of the living room, we enjoy a view of the courtyard, while on the other side, there is the classic balcony of the Venetian Piano Nobile, where you can admire an enchanting view of a typical canal and catch a glimpse of the beautiful Grand Canal. The living room leads to a space that is now a splendid and well-stocked library with wooden flooring, making the room a fantastic quiet reading area. Continuing on, there are three more rooms with original Venetian floors that make up the sleeping area of the flat but could also have other functions depending on the needs or requirements of those who live there. On the other side of the living room is another large room now used as a study, the dining room and then the kitchen. These are also charming areas with original Venetian floors. The property is a charming historic residence, ideal as a main residence for those who love beauty and Venetian style, or as a second home for those who want to spend short periods in an enchanting jewel of a palace in the extraordinary and magical city of Venice.
