The village of Nebbiuno is located in the province of Novara, within the strip of Piedmontese land that borders Lake Maggiore. Situated in a hilly area rich in vegetation, this small town offers both tranquility and proximity to services and the main lakeside towns, first among them, Arona. An important tourist center, well connected to the main highways, close to Malpensa and 60 km from Milan, Arona is located on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. A town with a rich history, Arona was long in the hands of the wealthy and powerful Borromeo family: Saint Charles Borromeo was born here, in the castle, in 1538. The town has many churches and squares, among which the church of SS. Martiri, with its 15th-century frescoes of the Leonardesque school, and the Collegiate Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary are certainly worth mentioning. Moving on to the medieval heart of the town, we discover Piazza del Popolo, with its houses with an ancient flavor and the pier, on which stands a small lighthouse, a favorite place for tourists. However, the most important and fascinating monument of Arona is undoubtedly the colossus of St. Charles Borromeo, which, at about 35 meters tall, ranks as the second tallest statue in the world, preceded only by the Statue of Liberty. Arona also offers various activities for tourists: a historic center full of shops and restaurants, a beautiful lakeside promenade where you can stroll, and shores and small beaches where you can spend warm summer days. In this wonderful historical and natural setting, you can find homes for sale on Lake Maggiore.
