The most famous cypress trees in the world are those of San Quirico d'Orcia, and this is certainly not new. Every day they are admired, painted, photographed by so many people that they have become the symbol of the Tuscan and Italian landscape all over the world.
Another certificate, which enhances the prestige of the famous countryside of the surrounding countryside in San Quirico d'Orcia, comes this time from the Wiki Loves Monuments competition that unveiled the photographs of the winners of the seventh Italian edition. In the Top 10, in fact, two photos have the cypresses of San Quirico as their subject. Two very different images, but both suggestive and that represent the beauty of Val d'Orcia, the true and original one.
Having two images among the first ten photos classified on several tens of thousands of images in the competition is certainly a great recognition and a confirmation that the celebrated landscape of the Val d'Orcia represents a tangible and intangible heritage for current and future generations.
