Mauer is considerably higher than the rest of Vienna. The trees in the Maurerwald forest ensure good air quality and cooling even on the hottest days of the year. As a result, the Maurerwald is up to 5°C cooler than other parts of the city. Here you can live in a rural idyll that still has excellent urban infrastructure: very good local amenities, public transport within walking distance, excellent schools and childcare facilities, and all kinds of high-quality services. Maurerwald also has good transport links by car: the motorway network can be reached in around 15 minutes via the Vösendorf junction, and the city centre and international airport are around half an hour away.
