Welcome to the Hotel Breitenburg
&w=1920&q=75)
The history of Breitenburg Castle - not far from Itzehoe - dates back to the 16th century. The Rantzau family has resided here for 500 years. On the count's estate, surrounded by the beautiful nature of Schleswig-Holstein, an elegant, lovingly planned and natural luxury hotel with excellent cuisine and a large wellness area has now been created - the owner is Moritz Graf zu Rantzau. We spoke to Sven Sausmikat, Managing Partner, about the Hotel Breitenburg.
Engel & Völkers Schleswig-Holstein:
Thank you very much for taking the time for an interview! So shortly before the warm-up phase of the Hotel Breitenburg on November 1, there is certainly still a lot to do. What can guests expect at Hotel Breitenburg from the beginning of November? Tell us about your concept!
Sven Sausmikat:
Above all, it was important to us to embed the hotel in the basic concept of the estate. The result is a warm, lovingly designed hotel with oak floorboards from the Breitenburg forest. In addition, travertine in the bathroom and coordinated, stylish colors. As in the restaurant, we also attached great importance to using regional products as much as possible in the construction.
Engel & Völkers Schleswig-Holstein:
The chronicle of the castle dates back to the 16th century. Now the former stables of the count's Breitenburg estate have been extensively converted into a hotel. How did you manage to preserve the tradition of the estate despite all the modernity? What was paid particular attention to?
Sven Sausmikat:
This point was immensely important to us from the very first thought. In order to convey the special charm, the basic features of the stables were retained. Of course, the use of valuable materials also plays a role. Just like the things that you might only notice at second glance, such as the coat of arms above the fireplace. Now that the hotel is finished, we ourselves are almost a little amazed at how well modernity and tradition harmonize with each other. And that also makes the hotel something special.
Engel & Völkers Schleswig-Holstein:
The Grand Opening and therefore also the opening of the spacious SPA is then planned for the beginning of 2022. Tell us about the highlights!
Sven Sausmikat:
We are particularly proud of our SPA area. Here, our guests can relax with all their senses and treat themselves to a break from everyday life. The jewel in the crown is the 7 x 15 meter infinity pool. A real highlight is the view from the relaxation rooms of the Breitenburg Canal and the untouched nature. No noise, no technology, just pure relaxation. You can also enjoy the view from various saunas or from several treatment rooms. Whether hammam, rasul, steam bath, massages or high-quality natural cosmetics. Wellness lovers will get their money's worth here.
Engel & Völkers Schleswig-Holstein:
The enthusiasm for the new Hotel Breitenburg is clearly noticeable. Do you have any tips for activities around the Hotel Breitenburg?
Sven Sausmikat:
Plenty, actually. The adjacent 27-hole golf course, which guarantees a varied and interesting game, is probably the most outstanding. Horse lovers are also in the right place here. We even have boxes available if our guests want to bring their horse with them. A unique natural landscape with wide fields, meadows and centuries-old trees awaits hikers and cyclists. If you are looking for a little more action, you can also try a parachute jump in the surrounding area. There are also a number of excursion destinations worth visiting in the area.
Engel & Völkers Schleswig-Holstein:
Dear Mr. Sausmikat, thank you very much for the interview! We wish you a very successful warm-up phase and always a full house!
