Hilly municipality of medieval origin with fertile territory rich in springs, it presents a regular geometric profile with slight variations in altitude. It is known that from 1250 it was connected to Chieri, and then ruled by the Savoia-Acaia from 1347. With the marriage of Carlotta Delfina Caravella to Marquis Ignazio di Faussone, lord of Montaldo, it passed to this noble family. It was the Marquis himself who took an interest in the renovation works of the castle.
