Description

Dominating a hill that slopes down to the sea, stands a historic early 20th-century residence, finely restored, preserving the property's historical and cultural characteristics and immersed in a 5-hectare olive grove. The ground floor houses two living areas characterized by barrel vaults, entirely made of exposed stone, which give a warm and timeless atmosphere. Each room opens onto the terrace surrounding the house, thanks to arched glass windows that create perfect continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. In the fully furnished kitchen, the ancient fireplace that was used for cooking and heating the environment and the original well have been preserved. Serving the ground floor is a bathroom complete with a shower, finished with lava stone, Indian slate, brass, and olive wood finishes. Beneath the living room, visible through glass slabs, emerge the ancient underground cisterns, an element of great historical value. At the top of the staircase leading to the upper floor, we discover a fresco before entering the main hall with high star-shaped ceilings and oak wood flooring. The sleeping area houses two fully frescoed bedrooms, brought to light during the renovation works, ancient 17th-century tiles, and a view of the olive grove. Through a boudoir room, equipped with a large fireplace, you access the main bathroom with a spa tub and shower and brass and stone finishes. An additional staircase leads to the top terrace, surrounded by characteristic battlements. The stone seats, inspired by Moroccan riad roofs, create an intimate and evocative space, perfect for moments of relaxation or catching sunsets on the horizon. On the grounds, there are two artesian wells, an Imhoff tank, and the possibility of building additional residences and a swimming pool. The elements that stand out in this property are the history, nature, and tranquility of the place; a secluded retreat, away from the chaos, yet a short distance from the renowned beaches of the Ionian coast.

    Location: Presicce-Acquarica, Apulia

The village of Presicce, defined as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy," is a small gem. Presicce is appreciated for the perfect harmony between beauty, simplicity, and the authenticity typical of Salento, an atmosphere of slow living. Venturing into the countryside halfway between the village and Lido Marini, amidst stretches of olive trees and red earth paths, we glimpse the crenellated tower at the end of an avenue, behind the entrance gate. The area retains elements of rural life such as trulli and plots of land, with spontaneous fig trees that in the summer season seem to be within reach of passersby, like in a sort of earthly paradise. The coastline is low, characterized by the presence of dunes behind it. The beach has very fine and very light sand, the finest in Salento. Ideally located less than an hour from Lecce, 100 km from Brindisi airport, and a few minutes from the most beautiful beaches of Salento with white sand and crystal-clear waters. Easily reachable in less than 30 minutes, the east side of the peninsula, with its jagged coasts rich in caves and natural views.
