The municipality of Perledo is located in a hilly area just a five-minute drive from Varenna in the province of Lecco. This is one of the most charming and well-known locations on the eastern shore of Lake Como and welcomes visitors all year round. From here one can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake, ranging from the western shore (with the towns of Menaggio and Tremezzo) to the famous peninsula of Bellagio: it is the ideal location to admire a fabulous sunset. In addition to the spectacular panorama, there are excellent restaurants, hotels, bars and fine craft shops in the immediate vicinity, as well as two of the most famous villas on Lake Como: Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero. In addition, you can visit the charming Vezio Castle, a medieval stronghold where the ancient art of falconry is still handed down today. From the harbour, convenient ferry connections to other locations on the lake leave all year round. The lake invites water sports enthusiasts to a variety of activities, while the hinterland delights cyclists and hikers with several scenic trails, including the famous Sentiero del Viandante. The city of Como is about an hour and a half's drive away, and the city of Lecco is easily reached in 35 minutes. Winter sports enthusiasts should note the proximity of the ski resorts of St.Moritz (CH), Madesimo, Bormio and Livigno, two to three hours' drive away, depending on the destination. Milan and the airports of Malpensa and Linate are approximately one and a half hours away by car, as is the city of Lugano in Switzerland.
