What does definition of done mean?

The definition of done describes the minimum requirements that must be fulfilled before a page can be published.

A page is only considered done when:

  • The content is correct

  • The design is consistent

  • The technical setup is complete

  • The SEO basics are implemented

  • Accessibility standards are respected

  • The page follows the content guidelines

If one of these elements is missing, the page is not ready for publishing.

Content quality check

Before publishing, confirm:

  • Spelling and grammar are correct

  • Tone of voice matches our premium brand

  • Text follows the content guidelines

  • No placeholder text (for example “Lorem Ipsum”, “TBD”, “Text coming soon”)

  • Property data such as prices, sizes, and locations is accurate

  • Dates are correct

  • No duplicate content

If you are unsure about writing style or structure, review the Content Guideline before continuing.

Ask yourself:
Would I send this page directly to a high-end client?

If not, improve it before publishing.

Structure and layout check

  • Headlines follow the correct hierarchy (H1, H2, H3)

  • Paragraphs are easy to read and not too long

  • Bullet points are formatted consistently

  • Images are high quality and not pixelated

  • Images are not stretched or distorted

  • Spacing looks clean on desktop and mobile

  • No empty modules or unused components

Consistency builds trust.

  • All internal links work

  • All external links open correctly

  • Links point to the right language version

  • No broken links

  • Links point to the correct slug

  • Navigation includes the page, if required

  • Buttons lead to the correct destination

Always test links manually before publishing.

SEO basics check

Minimum SEO requirements:

  • Meta title is set and in the right language

  • Meta description is written and in the right language

  • URL slug is correct and clean

  • No duplicate slug

  • Images include alt text in the page language

  • H1 is used only once

The slug should:

  • Be short

  • Be readable

  • Use hyphens instead of spaces

  • Not include unnecessary words

Accessibility check

Accessibility ensures that all users, including people with disabilities, can access and understand our content. It also supports SEO performance.

Before publishing, confirm:

  • Images include meaningful alt text that describes the content of the image

  • Headline structure is logical and sequential (no skipping from H1 to H4)

  • Link text clearly describes the destination

  • Text is understandable and not overly complex

  • No important information is communicated only through images

  • Buttons are clearly labeled

  • Tables are structured correctly and used only when necessary

Accessibility is not optional. It is part of our quality standard and reflects our professionalism. More about accessibility.

Technical and system check

  • Correct folder and structure placement

  • Correct content type selected

  • Correct template used

  • Alternate versions configured correctly, if applicable (read more about Alternate versions)

  • Page assigned to the correct market and language

  • Preview works correctly

If you are unsure about the technical setup, contact the website admin.

Do not publish if

  • Content is incomplete or content is not completely translated

  • You are unsure about accuracy

  • SEO fields are empty

  • The alternate version chain might be affected

  • You see system warnings or errors

  • You have not completed this review

When in doubt, ask.

Final approval mindset

Before clicking publish, ask yourself:

  • Does this page reflect a premium real estate brand?

  • Is everything accurate and professional?

  • Would I confidently present this page to a client or investor?

If the answer is not clearly yes, the page is not done.

Summary

A page is done when:

  • Content is correct

  • Design is clean

  • Links work

  • SEO is implemented

  • Technical setup is complete

  • Brand standards are met

Only then should the page be published.
