Grächen is a municipality in the Visp district, in the canton of Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This mountain village is a paradise for family holidays in summer and winter. The ski area in Grächen, with 42 km of slopes, is clearly laid out, reliably snow-covered up to 2,858 m above sea level, and impresses with its unique panorama. Mogul runs and a fun park round off the offer. 38 km of winter hiking trails, a toboggan run and 23 km of snowshoe trails also draw non-skiers into the snowy winter landscape.

Grächen also has an outstanding reputation as a hiking region. Keen hikers appreciate the 250 km network of trails, covering the forest, Lake Grächen, babbling irrigation channels and the access to the glacier gate. The Hannigalp at 2,100 m above sea level is the centerpiece of the hiking region: it links the high-level trail to Saas-Fee with the Europaweg between Zermatt and Grächen—among the Alps’ most famous and beautiful high-altitude hiking routes.
