Public transport links are good. The bus stop is within walking distance. The bus runs directly to Zurich Airport, as well as to Bülach and Kloten. In addition to the large shopping centres in Bülach and Kloten, Winkel has a bakery, a butcher’s and a Volg with an integrated post office in the village centre.

Another advantage of this municipality is its tax rate, which stands at 76 per cent and is therefore one of the lowest in the canton of Zurich, which in turn fosters a healthy and vibrant community. However, Winkel is not only known for its attractive village life, but also impresses with its surrounding natural beauty. Numerous woods, meadows and nature reserves are ideal for sports and outdoor activities. The nearby Augwil golf course is a favourite with golfers, whilst the ‘Panzerpiste’ and the path around the airport are popular with skaters and cyclists.
