The district is divided into different areas named after well-known European cities. In general, almost all the towns in Heuchelhof are named after other well-known cities.
Heuchelhof is the second southernmost district of Würzburg. It is separated from Heidingsfeld by the A3 highway and is located on a hill with a wonderful view of the entire city of Würzburg.

Living in Heuchelhof
What is immediately noticeable in Heuchelhof is the circular layout of the streets. These small residential areas are generally traffic-calmed and offer plenty of space for children to play. Overall, the whole district is square and the various parts differ both in their demographics and in the way the buildings are constructed.
The Straßburger Ring is the oldest part of Heuchelhof and was designed and built on as the first construction phase. Most of the buildings are high-rise buildings with 6-11 storeys, but some are also so-called "terrace buildings" with 3-5 storeys, which are built close together. This should strengthen communication between the neighbors. The overall construction is quite simple and designed to guarantee as much living space as possible. The majority of the living space consists of social housing, with only a few condominiums. The area around Place de Caen and south of Römer Strasse can be seen as the district center of the entire Heuchelhof and also fulfills the supply functions for the entire district. There is a supermarket, a Russian supermarket, a drinks market, a stationery and magazine store, a chemist, a pharmacy, a hairdresser, a post office, a bank branch and doctors.
The adjoining part of Heuchelhof is the Wiener Ring, which is located next to the Bromberg-Rosengarten nature reserve. The Wiener Ring consists almost without exception of closely packed apartment buildings. Unlike the Strasbourg Ring, there are no high-rise complexes here. The Athener Ring, Moskauer Ring and Prager Ring are very similar: many apartment buildings are lined up next to each other, but there are also a few detached houses with gardens as well as some semi-detached houses and bungalows.
The proportion of rental apartments is very high in Straßburger Ring, but rather low in Heuchelhof as a whole, as the proportion of owner-occupied apartments is higher.
There is also a small garden area on the edge of Prager Ring where you can rent small allotment gardens.
There are many playgrounds and green spaces in Heuchelhof and the ring-shaped orientation of the sections of the district create a pleasant flair. The district is therefore particularly suitable for families with children, but many young people also benefit from the perfect connection to the streetcar network.
Heuchelhof - Rottenbauer industrial estate
The second largest commercial area in Würzburg is located between Heuchelhof and Rottenbauer, and is shared by both districts. A major advantage is its convenient location to the B19 federal highway and the A3 autobahn and, of course, the streetcar that runs through the industrial estate. Various companies and a recycling center can be found on the industrial estate. A DIY store, several grocery stores, various service companies and a car spare parts dealer are also located there.
A fitness studio, a popular trampoline hall and a bowling center offer an ideal balance to everyday life.
Infrastructure
Heuchelhof can be reached from Heidingsfeld via Heuchelhofer Straße, which runs through the entire district. The streetcar also runs along this road and connects Heuchelhof and its small sections with Rottenbauer and Würzburg city center. The district has a very good, self-sufficient infrastructure. There is a supermarket and several small grocery stores, many pharmacies as well as several cafés and restaurants. You could almost get the impression that Heuchelhof is its own little town.
The Centre for the Physically Handicapped, a school with boarding facilities for children with disabilities and the Karl Kroiß School, which specializes in children with hearing impairments, are located at the beginning of the district. The social infrastructure is also very well developed: there is the Catholic parish church of St. Sebastian with a kindergarten, the Protestant Gethsemane Church, a youth club, a community center and two municipal elementary school, one of which is an all-day school. The Adolph Kolping vocational school and the Kolping-Bildungswerk are located in the industrial estate: the aim is to make the transition from school to working life easier for young people. Various kindergartens and daycare centers are located throughout the district.
Heuchelhof has a well-developed club life and has a soccer club, a basketball club and a tennis club.
Berner Straße is also home to the headquarters and printing plant of Main Post GmbH, the largest regional daily newspaper. The Unterfranken youth education center on the edge of the district has several conference rooms and offers ideal conditions for conferences and seminars.

Demographics and development
Access to the Straßburger Ring streetcar stop is not yet barrier-free. This has been a point of criticism for several years and will be improved in the near future. It is particularly important to redesign the stop accordingly due to its proximity to the Center for the Physically Disabled, but also because of the large number of elderly people.
For many years, the Straßburger Ring, also known as H1, and many parts of Heuchelhof were not very popular due to the many high-rise buildings. The appearance of the district has changed for the better over the years and there are now a large number of playgrounds, green spaces, landscaped parks and many leisure facilities. The conversion of the former swimming pool into today's "Treffpunkt am alten Schwimmbad" has greatly strengthened social life in Heuchelhof and is now a popular place for people of all ages.
There are many underground parking garages in Heuchelhof, which guarantees a separation of driving and walking traffic.
In general, the proportion of foreigners in Heuchelhof is above average, especially on Straßburger Ring. Integration has made great progress in recent years, thanks to various integration efforts on the part of the city. Living together is very harmonious and the different generations and nationalities get on well together.
Heuchelhof has a very high proportion of children and young people compared to the rest of the city. There is therefore a great need for planning in the area of youth welfare in order to be able to provide support both in coping with school and in the transition to working life. The number of over 75-year-olds is rather low, but the infrastructure is constantly being improved, which will increase the proportion of senior citizens in the long term.
